Didn't fly? Claim back the airport tax and charges

Tak jadi terbang? Tuntut balik cukai lapangan terbang (PSC) & caj

Bought a ticket but didn't fly? Even on a 'non-refundable' ticket, the airline must refund the mandatory charges you didn't use: passenger service charge (PSC, the airport tax), government taxes and fees, fuel surcharges and other charges such as a carbon fee. Paid to your original payment method within 30 days.

  1. Look for old tickets you didn't use (say you missed the flight or cancelled yourself). On the receipt, find the passenger service charge (PSC), taxes, departure levy, fuel surcharge and other fees.
  2. Request a refund of those charges using the airline's refund form on its website or app. This applies to both refundable and non-refundable tickets. Whether the base fare comes back depends on your ticket's terms.
  3. The money must be refunded within 30 days to your original payment method. Nothing after 30 days? Complain to CAAM through flysmart.my with your booking number and proof of your request.
